Introduction
Tailor On Tap is seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented individual to join our corporate headquarters as a Financial Analyst. The individual must come from an Accounting or Finance related background, and will be responsible for overall financial and operational support, including budgeting and forecasting. Furthermore, this individual will have the opportunity to join a company that is fast growing with a strong company culture.
Tailor on Tap, is a custom clothing technology start-up based in Pittsburgh, PA. This role will be pivotal in formulating the company’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives and provide the opportunity to grow within the organization.
What does a Financial Analyst at Tailor On Tap do?
Prepare annual budget and monthly rolling forecasts.
Develop and maintain financial models.
Track and analyze fluctuations in expenses and revenues.
Prepare, review, and distribute monthly financial reports to the senior management team.
Monitor and analyze volume and operational metric reports.
Develop, maintain, and distribute ad-hoc reports as necessary.
Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
Maintains the general ledger.
Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
What does it take to be a Financial Analyst with Tailor On Tap?
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
3 or more years of experience in preparing and maintaining financial models, budgets, reporting, consolidation, and financial analysis.
Accounting/GAAP knowledge.
Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge.
Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects, as well as strong follow-through skills.
Ability to complete projects timely and accurately.
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
Highly proficient with accounting software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
CPA eligibility or certification is a plus
